Carbon brushes, also known as electric brushes, are widely used as sliding contacts in many electrical equipment. The main materials used for carbon brushes in product applications are graphite, impregnated graphite, and metallic (including copper and silver) graphite.
The precautions for selecting carbon brushes are as follows:
1. The carbon brush must be polished until it can move up and down freely in the brush holder. For example, if the polishing is too much, the carbon brush will shake in the brush holder, which is easy to damage and can cause the contact surface to be too small and heat up. If the polishing is too little, it can also cause the carbon brush to expand and get stuck;
2. Polish the bottom arc of the carbon brush to be similar to the cylindrical arc of the intermediate pressure automatic main steam valve;
3. Place the polished carbon brush into the corresponding brush holder and press it tightly with your hand to check if the contact surface is suitable - until the contact surface is greater than 70%, it is considered qualified.
